The Skyline Equestrian Team held its first meet of the season Sunday at the Wayne County Fairgounds in Belleville. Competing as a small “B” Division team against seven other schools, the Eagle riders delivered a resounding victory earning 182 points and outscoring our closest competition (Pioneer) by 89 points.
Madeline Turner was our high point rider for the day adding 47 points to the Skyline total and another 3 when riding with Lysette Kessler in the two-rider relay race. Strong performances were turned in by Cece Simonsen (44 points), Ben Ehrlich (38 points), Lysette Kessler (20 points) and Ceclia Lundberg (20 points). Allie Kier(13 points), first year rider, rounded out the scoring with a first place in trail class and placings in showmanship and English equitation as well.
The Eagles’ next meet will be this Saturday at the Wayne County Fairgrounds beginning at 8:30 A M.
