Skyline High School
Jackson High School
A half-hearted, half-speed effort by the Eagles resulted in a Jack Town smack down on the Saturday after New Year’s Day at Optimist Arena. Skyline let the Vikings dictate play all afternoon as they mostly played deep in their own end for much of the game. In addition to playing like they had too much to eat over the holidays, the Eagles put themselves behind the eight ball on numerous occasions as they went on a steady parade to the penalty box throughout the game.
Eric Kadar was a shining light for Skyline as he pressured the puck each time he hit the ice. He was rewarded for his efforts in the first period as he made something out of nothing on his assist of the lone Skyline goal. Knocking the puck off of the attacking Jackson player’s stick at mid ice, he forced the play deep into their zone. The resulting scrum around the net produced a goal as CJ Bahr slammed it home.
The Eagles hope to get back to their winning ways this coming Tuesday night at the Cube as they take on the Hornets from Saline at 7:00.
