Game Recap

Skyline and Waverly played a really close, well contested game on Tuesday. Skyline finished strong with the 77-72 win. Skyline was able to use some full court pressure at the start of the game to open up a 20-15 1st quarter lead. The 2nd quarter was an offensive struggle for both teams. Skyline was not able to convert on many shots in the lane to capitalize on the strong defensive and rebounding effort. Waverly came out in the third quarter and tightened things up early only to see Skyline go on a run to build the lead to 5 points again. Waverly then answered back and closed out the third quarter leaving Skyline with a 2 point lead. In the 4th quarter, neither team could miss. Skyline hit 8 of 9 shots and 6 of 7 from the line and it was all needed as Waverly’s #3 Sutton put on a show with 15 4th quarter points (ending with 27) as he could not miss with the defense all over him. In the 4th quarter for Skyline, Jack Ammerman and Christian Knox each hit 2 3’s and Brandon Wade added 6 points to keep the lead. For the game, Brandon Wade had 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Jack Ammerman had 25 points and 5 assists. Christian Knox had 15 points and 2 assists. Dan Black 6 pt, 4 rebounds. Ryan Wade 5 points, 1 assist. Darius Hall 3 points, Kayron Rodgers (8 rebounds) and DeSean Munson (2 rebounds) had 2 points. Skyline is at Pioneer on Friday.
