Game Recap

Skylines 51-46 win over Saline solidifies the first Boys Basketball Conference Championship in school history! What an accomplishment for this group of players and program in the extremely tough SEC this year! Skyline battled through a poor shooting first half only being able to convert on 9/30 shooting in the first half. Strong Skyline defense and rebounding kept the game close through the half and Ryan Wade hit an enormous shot from half court as time expired in the first half to give Skyline a 24-18 first half lead. Saline came out in the second half and scored quickly and got stops to tie the game up and then hit some big three pointers as Skyline continued to struggle scoring the ball and took a 7 point lead with about 1 min left in the third quarter. Coach Wade then fired the team up after a time out with 1 min left in the 3rd quarter and Skyline went on a 7-0 run to end the third quarter to have a tie game 37-37 headed into the 4th. Skyline continued the run into the 4th and built a 6 point lead with pressure defense and better offensive scoring. Skyline was able to secure the win with free throw shooting and defense down the stretch. For Skyline Brandon Wade had 18 pts, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for Skyline while Jack Ammerman had 17 points. Saline was led by Emmett Turner with 25 points and Calder Pellerin with 14 points. Skyline will travel to Romulus next Tuesday. GO EAGLES!!!! SEC CHAMPS!!!!
