Skyline had a successful Saturday, taking home the Skyline Invitational three team tournament between the Eagles, Belleville High School and Lincoln High School.
Pitchers Colton Guntzviller and Matthew Hagan teamed up to take out Belleville in the morning game, 11-1. Guntzviller got the win, going 4 1/3 innings before Hagan took over and went the rest of the way. Lincoln then defeated Belleville in game two, to set up a game for the championship between the Rail Splitters and Skyline. Junior Charlie Decker took the ball for Skyline in the game, and he got the job done, going 5 1/3 innings to notch the win, before handing the ball to senior Ian Frison, who came in to finish the game and get the save.
Offensively the Eagles banged out 11 hits against Belleville, including multiple hit days by Sean Haddlesey, who went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI, Eamon Horwedel, who went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI, and Blake Mial, who went 2 for 3 with a triple and 4 RBI. Others getting hits were Darryn Davis, who doubled and scored, Jack Winger, Ian Frison, and Andrew Fisher.
In the championship game, Haddlesey, Jake Push and Mial, all had multiple hit games. Haddelsey was 2 for 4 with a double and a RBI. Push was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI, and Mail was 2 for 4. Also getting in on the fun for Skyline was Darryn Davis, with a double and two RBI.
