Skyline and Detroit Country Day squared off in the final game of the 2nd Annual Ann Arbor Classic. Skyline was able to battle to a first half lead 36-30 where each team was able to take advantage of defensive miscues in full court pressure by the other team. Skyline came out in the 3rd quarter and had its most disciplined defensive effort of the year along with sharing the ball and getting the right shot at the right time on offense. Skyline won the 3rd quarter 21-5 to push the lead over 20. Skyline finished with a 71-53 win.
Ryan Wade had 26 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals and was in a great rhythm all night. DeSean Munson had 19 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 blocks and was very active all night. Kabir Bergin had 8 points, 7 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 assists along with being strong in the middle vs pressure. Chris Cayton (3 rebounds/3 assists) and Jaylin Cooper (3 rebounds/1 assist) each had 8 points during important runs in the game. Spencer Morgan and Robert Malcolm gave valuable minutes in defensive effort off the bench.
Skyline looks to continue its positive direction next Tuesday at Sterling Heights Stevenson.
