Skyline and Detroit Pershing battled in the Motor City Round Ball Classic at Detroit Renaissance High School. Skyline struggled to hit some shots in the first half and Pershing was able to capitalize mid way through the 2nd quarter by building about a 9 point lead. Skyline then cut into the lead and was down 4 when Pershing took a 3 pointer that rattled out at the end of the half and Brandon Wade collected the rebound and dribbled toward half court and made a spectacular shot from behind the half court line at the buzzer to be down 1 point at half. Skyline came out in the second half and started getting into more of a rhythm to have a 4 point lead on the shoulders of Brandon Wade who had 12 points in the quarter and Jack Ammerman with 4 points in the quarter. Skyline built a 7 point lead in the 4th quarter and was able to hold the lead down the stretch with Pershing hitting a 3 at the buzzer to cut it to a 1 point victory.
Brandon Wade was named the game MVP with 23 points and 6 assists. Jack Ammerman had 12 points, 3 assists and 3 steals. Ryan Wade had 11 points and 6 big rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. DeSean Munson was solid in the middle with 9 points and 6 rebounds. Christian Knox had 3 points and 2 steals. Jaylin Cooper had 3 points. Darius Hall had 2 points and 4 rebounds.
Detroit Pershing was led in scoring by Ron Hill with 28 points.
Skyline finishes December at 6-0 vs great competition and opens the New Year hosting Pioneer on Friday December 12th.
