Skyline and Wayne Memorial are both talented teams that had an early season matchup. Skyline was not able to capitalize on quite a few early opportunities and still managed to have a 3 point lead with 40 sec left in the half before committing two turnovers that led to two Wayne Memorial baskets and allowed Wayne Memorial to have a 2 point lead going into halftime. Wayne Memorial started to build a lead early in the third and then Skyline turned up full court pressure defense midway through the third quarter to come all the back and take the lead. Wayne Memorial then found a couple good looks are retook the lead. The game was anyones game until about 1min left when Skyline had to foul and Wayne Memorial was able to convert enough free-throws down the stretch.
Ryan Wade had 21 points. Kabir Bergin had a great overall game with 15 points and played tough in the middle and down low. DeSean Munson had 14 points. Skyline will regroup, refocus and prepare to have a much improved effort and execution on Saturday in the Ann Arbor Classic against Detroit Country Day at 7:00 pm at Huron.
