Sophomore Ryan Schmunk (assisted by Ryan VanDiepen & Henry Hescheles) scored at 3:56 of overtime against cross-town rival Pioneer to lift the Eagles to victory on Monday night at the Arctic Coliseum. The exciting win propels the undefeated icers to 5-0 on the season. Skyline played catch-up most of the night as the Pioneers would score a goal, then the Eagles would answer with one of their own. The Eagles lead only once in the game during a stretch in the third period that lasted less than two minutes. Pioneer bagged two quick goals to take their lead back, but then senior captain Ryan VanDiepen scored the tying goal with 6:59 left to send the game into overtime. Freshman goalie Tommy Letke weathered his toughest challenge of the young season to earn his 5th win.

First Period:
Ryan Schmunk (assisted by Ryan VanDiepen & C.J. Bahr) scored his first of the night to tie the score at 1-1.
Isaac Lippert (assisted by Noah Bradburn & Shea O’Brien) scored his first of the night to tie the score at 2-2.

Second Period:
Noah Bradburn (assisted by Isaac Lippert) scored to tie the score at 3-3.

Third Period:
Isaac Lippert (assisted by Luke Lippert & Noah Bradburn) scored his second of the night to take the lead 4-3.
Ryan VanDiepen (unassisted) scored to tie the score at 5-5.

Ryan Schmunk (assisted by Ryan VanDiepen & Henry Hescheles) scored his second of the night to win the game 6-5.
