In a Tuesday matchup at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube against SEC Red powerhouse Saline, the Eagles nearly pulled off a victory, leading 2-1 in the second period on goals by Shea O’Brien and Noah Bradburn. But the senior-heavy Hornet squad outlasted the Eagles in the heavy weight tilt 3-2.
Sophomore goalie Tommy Letke stopped 34 shots, while the Saline netminder only had to turn away 25 shots. Freshman Zane Myler earned the game puck for his workman-like performance on one of the top lines.
Skyline is 4-2, dropping two games in a row after starting the season undeafeated. Next game is Wednesday 12/12 against Bedford at the Toledo Ice House.
