Skyline Boys Varsity Basketball team had a strong opening game against Novi getting out to an early lead and continuing to build on the lead throughout the game. Skyline was able to improve on its half court defensive effort and positioning during the game to hold Novi to difficult shot attempts. Offensively Skyline did not shoot very well in the first half and started to find more of a rhythm and shot the ball better in the 2nd half. Skyline was led by Ryan Wade and DeSean Munson. Ryan had 22 points and 6 assists. DeSean Munson had 15 points, 13 rebounds and some spectacular dunks. Sophomore Chris Cayton had a very good first varsity game as a starter applying his signature pressure defense, getting the team into offense and contributing 5 points and 5 assists. Kabir Bergin who is a returning starter had a solid game with 6 points and 3 rebounds. Skyline got other key contributions from Jaylin Cooper with 10 points and 7 steals, Robert Malcolm Jr 6 points and 3 rebounds and Spencer Morgan added 2 points and 4 rebounds.
